떡볶이 | Dukbokki 🌶️🌶️
Giant rice in sweet and spicy sauce.

Ingredients
- 2 Cups water
- 1 Cup red pepper paste
- ¼ Cup red pepper powder
- 2 Teaspoons garlic powder
- 4 Korean peppers
- 2 large vidalia onions
- 20 garlic cloves
- 6 green onions
- 1 Cup shredded carrot
- 2 duck eggs or three chicken eggs
- ½ Bag dukbokki duk may be sold as rice cakes, or sometimes spelled others ways like tteokbokki, ddukbokki, etc.
- 1 Tablespoon honey brown sugar can be used too
- ⅛ Cup sesame seeds
- 2 Teaspoons cinnamon
Instructions
- Defrost dukboki duk if frozen

- Heat water over medium heat in a wok
- Add hot pepper paste and stir. Keep stirring occasionally

- Add carrots (you can microwave them first to speed things up)

- Slice and add onions

- Begin boiling separate pot for eggs. Cook accordingly for hard boil eggs

- Add red pepper powder, garlic powder, and cinnamon (optional: honey or brown sugar to sweeten it). Stir all ingredients together

- Chop up peppers and add to wok. Stir all ingredients

- Chop up garlic and add to wok. Stir all ingredients

- Chop green onions and set aside for topping

- Low boil all ingredients for 20 min

- Peel hard boiled eggs. Add eggs to wok

- Add duk to wok and stir

- Bring everything back to a boil

- Serve and enjoy!
